The course may change slightly once the distance is certified in accordance with AIMS and IAAF specifications. The start of the marathon will be on Elgin Street 7:00 a.m.on the corner of Laurier Avenue. The route will travel as follows:
- North on Elgin going left at the War Memorial onto Wellington and head west
- Follow Wellington west to Portage Bridge
- Right on Portage to other side of Bridge
- Turn left on Alexandre Tache Blvd
- Turn right on St. Joseph then left on Duquesne

Turn right on Promenad du lac des fees then right on St Jean-Bosco

Left on Rue Lois and then right on Montcalm

Montcalm to Wellington then turn left. Wellington to Laval then right to Promenade du Portage.

Follow this to Hotel de Ville and then turn right

Follow Hotel de Ville to Laurier.

Turn left on Laurier and follow to the end and left on Dussault to access ramp to MacDonald Cartier Bridge and follow it over to Ottawa side using two lanes

Cross Bridge to Ottawa. On the Ottawa side take ramp to Sussex and then right on Sussex.

Sussex to McKay then right and follow McKay to Beechwood

Then left on Beechwood in westbound lane to Birch.

Left on Birch then right on Eastbourne. Eastbourne to Braemar then left to Arundel and right to St.Laurent.

Left on St.Laurent to Sandridge and then west on Sandridge to access road through RCMP grounds.

Follow this road to Rockcliffe Parkway then left. Follow Parkway to Lisgar then left on Lisgar.

Follow Lisgar to Princess then right to pick up Sussex.

Follow Sussex to McKenzie and then McKenzie to Colonel By Drive

Then follow Colonel By Drive past Bronson to Hogs back

Turn Left on Hogs Back and go to Riverside

Left on Riverside to Baseline and then left on Baseline

The route will go west in eastbound lanes to road that goes under Baseline to access Vincent Massey Park.

Take second exit back on to Baseline heading west to Prince of Wales

Turn right on Prince of Wales and follow to QE Driveway.

Prince of Wales turns into Queen Elizabeth Driveway and follow this to the finish line at Cartier Drill Hall.
